June 1st was a beautiful spring day, with low humidity and high, fluffy clouds, accompanied by a gentle breeze. I loaded two cameras and went for a stroll that eventually took me through Old Fourth Ward Park. As odd as it may seem, I have only visited the park in winter or early spring, so I have never seen it in its summer attire. The park was not my primary goal, so I was surprised to stumble upon a spring arts festival, which I had never heard of until that moment.
Based on the number of tents, the festival is relatively new and small, with a limited number of artists and visitors, so crowds were not an issue during my brief visit. The water basin at the center of the park, which is somewhat barren in winter, was surprisingly lush in late spring. Here are a few frames taken with the Minolta AF-C and Kentmere 400.
Please note, these were developed using a thermometer whose readings were off by 18°F (i.e., overdeveloped, pushed two stops).
