I spent my teen years in Columbus, Ohio, which is built on a grid. Streets run north to south or east to west. Bus routes follow the streets, so it’s easy to tell where a bus goes. Atlanta is designed in a more haphazard manner, as if a collection of suburbs were forced together. Streets change names without warning—Boulevard becomes Monroe Drive at Ponce De Leon.
I’ve only taken the bus in Atlanta a few times, the main reason being I can never figure out where they go or why. This sign doesn’t help.
