My Semi IIIa Is Back From Repair!

Last summer, I shot a roll in my Semi IIIa while strolling through Midtown.  On developing the film, I discovered that the focus was off, and the film advance/double exposure mechanism was faulty.   As a result, every frame was blurry, and there were many double exposures.   After going through the list of repair shops, I settled on Zack’s because he seemed to be someone who could take apart and rebuild just about any camera.   Off went my Semi IIIa, and after about three weeks, it  returned in full working order.

As it happens, I was scheduled to be in lower Midtown a few days after the camera arrived, so I took it along.   I had about an hour free, so I walked a few blocks and took test shots.  Unfortunately, I developed the film before I discovered my thermometer was off by about 18°F, so many of the images had odd artifacts and much more grain than usual.   However, the focus and film advance were fine.    Here are a few of the test shots.
