I have a few pictures of this MARTA station’s façade. These, taken about four years apart, are shown because they are about equal in terms of angle and field of view. After taking the color image, I decided that it would be better presented as black and white. Then, after looking at all the images for a while, I decided the color conveyed better my reason for taking it.
This MARTA station is next to the Woodruff Arts Center, the High Museum of Art, and not too far from the Savannah College of Art and Design. The mural’s mix of colors and patterns, along with the colors of the seating tiers, adds a certain zany ambiance to the station and expresses a type of edgy creativity long associated with the arts. I’ve never cared for Abstract Expressionism; however, when I pass by this mural, I get an urge to go home and do some painting.
